Fund says to give Rostelecom 1 bln rbl to introduce 4G net core

MOSCOW, Dec 30 (PRIME) -- Telecom company Rostelecom will get 1 billion rubles from the Russian Information Technology Development Fund (RFRIT) to implement a 4G mobile network core by company Protei until March 31, 2025, according to the fund’s information seen by PRIME on Friday.

A mobile network core is a hardware and software complex needed for connection in any region. They were earlier supplied to the country by Huawei, Nokia, and Ericsson.

Rostelecom President Mikhail Oseyevsky said earlier that the operator would sign a contract with Protei to create software for a mobile network core.
